Industry — Construction, EPC & project manufacturing

Run every job as a project, not a pile of orders

Fast ERP is built around a project + task spine — a Gantt of tasks with dependencies, a Bill of Resources per task, and project-wise procurement, progress and billing. EPC contractors, construction firms and project-based manufacturers see planned versus actual material, resources and revenue at the task level. The project profile is proven at Micro India. And it is the full Fast platform, so it serves manufacturing businesses of every kind — cloud or on-premise, in India and worldwide.

Why project & construction firms choose Fast ERP

The problems every EPC and
project-based manufacturer recognises

The schedule lives apart from the ERP

Tasks and dependencies sit in a standalone planning tool; purchase and stock sit in the ERP. When a task slips, nobody re-plans the material, and when material is late, the schedule doesn't know.

Material isn't tracked to a project or a task

Purchases pile into one store with no project tag, so committed and consumed material can't be read per job. Cross-project borrowing goes unrecorded and project cost is a month-end reconstruction.

No resource plan beyond material

A project needs machines and labour, not just parts, but a plain BOM captures only material. Crane time, fitters and sub-contract effort aren't planned or costed, so resource overruns surface too late.

Progress billing is a spreadsheet exercise

Milestone and progress invoices are built by hand against a contract nobody can tie to actual completion. Revenue recognised, amount billed and work done are three numbers that rarely line up.

How Fast ERP fixes each one
Project + task spine on the ERPProjects break into tasks with dependencies on a Gantt timeline, on the same database as purchase, stock and accounts — so schedule, material and cost move together, not in separate tools.
Project-wise procurement and stockPR, PO and GRN are raised against the project and task in purchase, so committed and received material is visible per job on one stock ledger.
Bill of Resources per taskA BOR captures material, machines and labour for each task, so resources are planned and costed — not just parts — and planned versus actual rolls up to the task and the project.
Project billing tied to progressMilestone and progress GST invoices raise against the project in accounts, reconciled to completion and posted to Tally — so billed, done and recognised agree.
The project lifecycle

From a contract to a billed milestone —
one project, one traceable trail

Every job runs as a project of tasks — each with a Bill of Resources that drives procurement, execution and billing — so schedule, material, resource and revenue read from one record instead of four disconnected tools.

Plan the project → resource each task →
procure, execute and bill

Fast ERP gives a project or construction business the whole job on one system — schedule, Bill of Resources, procurement, cost and billing on the same record — for a single package or a portfolio of projects, cloud or on-premise.

01 — Projects & tasks

A Gantt of tasks with real dependencies

Each contract becomes a project that breaks into tasks with start and end dates and dependencies, shown on a DayPilot/Gantt timeline. Task logs and files keep the site record, and completion rolls up to the project. Because the schedule sits on the same database as purchase and stock, a slipping task and a late delivery are visible in the same place.

02 — Bill of Resources

Plan the material, machines and labour, not just parts

Each task carries a Bill of Resources (BOR) — the project equivalent of a BOM plus resources. It lists the material, machines and labour a task needs, drives procurement and resource loading, and rolls planned versus actual up to the task and project. A structural BOM handles multi-level fabricated items where the project also manufactures, using the same BOM/BOR engine.

03 — Project procurement

Buy against the project, track committed vs received

A shortage against a task's BOR raises a Purchase Requisition tagged to the project, which becomes a PO and a Goods Receipt (GRN, REC) posting to project stock in inventory & stores. Committed (ordered) and received material is visible per project and task, and receipt inspection gates incoming quality. Material is then issued to the task, and its cost rolls into the project.

Bill the milestone, watch planned vs actual

Progress and milestone GST invoices raise against the project in accounts, with amount-in-words and reconciliation to completion. Project cost pulls material, resources and sub-contract into a planned-versus-actual view, and everything posts to Tally. So billed, done and recognised are one consistent set of numbers, per project and across the portfolio.

See the portfolio and ask it questions

Project and BOR reports show schedule, cost and billing per project and across the portfolio. On top, Dhruv AI gives management a live dashboard over project data, turns a plain-English question into a read-only query through a security sandbox, and surfaces slipping tasks and budget overruns automatically — so a problem project is flagged before it becomes a loss.

FAQ

Construction & project ERP —
what project heads ask us

Is Fast ERP suitable for EPC and project-based manufacturers?

Yes. It is built around a project + task spine with a Gantt view, dependencies and a Bill of Resources per task, so every job runs as a structured project. The project profile is proven at Micro India.

What is a Bill of Resources (BOR)?

The project equivalent of a BOM plus resources — material, machines and labour per task. It drives project procurement, resource loading and planned-versus-actual cost roll-up.

Can procurement and billing be tracked per project?

Yes. PR, PO and GRN are tagged to the project and task, so committed and received material is visible per job; billing is project-wise, with progress or milestone GST invoices posted to Tally.

Does it show progress on a Gantt chart?

Yes. Tasks with dates and dependencies sit on a DayPilot/Gantt timeline; completion, resources and material update the project view and roll up to management dashboards.

Is Fast ERP only for construction and projects?

No. This page leads with the project angle, but Fast ERP serves manufacturing businesses of every kind — discrete, automotive and SME — in India and worldwide, cloud or on-premise.

How does the project spine connect to stores and accounts?

It is one system. Material procured against a task posts to the same stock ledger, issues to the task, and its cost rolls into the project; billing posts to accounts and Tally.
